The Constitution - It's Worth Saving

All Americans should be proud of our Constitution and must be prepared to fight to preserve it intact. Let no one take away even a single right. It is one of the most wonderful documents of all written by some of the finest minds that ever lived in America. The current assault on our Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms is nothing but the thin edge of a very large wedge to dismantle the Constitution, because it is the Right that secures all the others. Without this protective right all the others are just words on paper and can be taken away from us at will. The sad fact is that no government in the history of the world ever pushed through gun controls to protect the people. Better known as civilian disarmament, governments enact gun laws to protect governments, and no one else. Our Founding Fathers understood this. Historically, governments that have turned on their people first seized the guns. And how did these oppressive governments know where the guns were? Yep, you guessed it, by registration and licensing records. Nazi Germany had a field day confiscating guns using these records when they invaded France and other countries during WWII. Europe has a long history of those in power working to keep the rest of the people without weapons -- for the benefit of those in power. This meant the common people were disarmed, but the upper classes still owned firearms. The restrictions weren't directed at the upper classes, and for good reason. They were the ones who had inherited wealth and land, and were given titles and positions of power by the government. But those in the "lower classes" had good reason to want broad sweeping changes as they were tired of a government and a social order that kept them in the lower classes for their entire lives. There were several important reasons why our Founding Fathers put the Second Amendment into the Bill of Rights -- it gave our citizens the means and right to develop those skills with arms necessary to protect our nation from foreign invasion during war - allows us to defend ourselves against internal standing armies controlled by would be dictators attempting to destroy our Constitution and deprive us of liberty -- gave us the right to defend ourselves from the criminals who would prey upon us. What we have today in the United States is an attack on the private ownership of firearms by far left extremists who are trying to eliminate any final opposition to their plans for a socialist government. This is the real purpose of the gun control lobby -- not the reduction of crime, which could be easily achieved by harsher penalties for criminals. |
